Communion: Something Worth Remembering

There are only two reasons that you do not remember the body and blood of Christ, the work Christ did on the cross to save us all. Either you never knew and are unsaved, or you are walking after the flesh in ungodliness. Christ’s cross-work unites all believers into one body. When forgotten, we are in danger of coming together for the worse like the Corinthians who were not remembering their common union with one another. I left my denomination almost a year ago and had to give up most of the doctrines I was taught.
The one left for me to get understanding on was the Lords Table as it was very near to me.
I am thankful for this message as it his cleared up all the doubts that I have had.
Thank you brother Jason.

Great lesson. I'm coming to Swayze for a lesson some day. I live in St; Louis MO, not too far away.

Let me start by saying I love your teaching of God's word rightly divided. You have helped me understand God's word more than anyone in my 40 years of being saved. But this lesson does not convince me that we should be participating in an activity of what is commonly known as "communion". I don't see Paul explaining this process they are going through but as a correction of what they should not be doing. That is, trying to copy the Lord's supper, (vs20) as the Jewish Passover which Jesus and the 12 were participating in. Whether the church is suppose to participate in the "communion" ceremony or not makes no difference to me. After coming to right division after being saved 35 years, I no longer simply take a church or man's word for something till I see it and understand it rightly divided. Whether this is in the transition period (seeing the Corinthians were still using the sign gifts - Chpt 13) or not I don't see us eating bread or drinking wine for us today as a church ordinance. Also you did not explain vs 30. Because people at that time were mishandling the process (communion) they got sick and even died. I don't believe the Lord makes us sick or puts our lights out for mishandling food. One last comment. If this process is for us today, why does Paul never mention it in his pastoral epistles? I think, like baptism this process vanished away. Thank you again for your ministry and info packed website.
