No wonder Beerus was so chill, Buu was doing his job for him😭

The only reason I can think of on why Beerus did not recognize Buu based on his "appearance, " is that he probably recognized the "Kid Buu" version of him. People tend to forget that Buu absorbed Supreme Kais, wanting to take their power for himself but in return were so pure they weakened him instead.

I love how Kid Buu had an infinite amount of stamina. Goku and Vegeta had to swap out several times due to exhaustion from the fight. Hell, even their attacks didn't seem to phase him. It's a shame he was confined to an arc that Toriyama didn't put as much effort into as the last two arcs before this (Freiza and Cell).

It was explained at some point that Beerus was asleep during Buu's rampages. Which makes sense, because he would've slaughtered Buu for going after the Kaioshin.
