A few years ago my mum and dad were invited to a wedding and dad wanted to wear highland dress, but couldn't find one in Forbes tartan so wore Black Watch instead. First time we'd seen him in the kilt and he looked AMAZING! Thanks Black Watch for coming to the rescue. Sadly my mum passed away two weeks after and dad passed away five years ago. I miss them both and thank them for instilling in me the pride of being a Scot. Hope to be back home in Aberdeen before too long.

I’m English but I’m proud to sharing a country with the Scot’s, we certainly would not have won the 1st and 2nd war without them

Im American born, but my mother, who's parents were from Dundee, raised me to be
Very proud of my Scottish heritage. The sound of the pipes is emotional for me. My mom took me to the games from when I was very young. I love this, and that at her age, her majesty is still quite Independent

I saw the Black Watch here in Richmond, Va, Thanksgiving Day, in 1970, and fell in love with them. I have been a fan ever since.

You are bogged down, running out of ammo and out numbered. Then in the distance you hear the sound of the pipes approaching. What a sweet sound that would be.

They fought at the first Battle of Carillion (Fort Ticonderoga) in 1758 during the French and Indian War, refusing to retreat and suffering many casualties in what was a devastating loss for the British. There is a cairn dedicated to them on the French Lines at Fort Ti. Our public Library in Ticonderoga is called the Black Watch Memorial Library
