Sorry for the gaps but youtube, after 3 years, decided some of these ancient tunes were copyright and to keep this video alive I have to painfully remove all of the "copyright" tunes.

Her was me thinking that a tune over 100 years old could not be copyrighted - oh well, how wrong I was!

Saturday 2nd July 2016 saw HM Queen Elizabeth in Edinburgh for the 5th opening of the Scottish Parliament.

The Scottish regiment known as "The Black Watch" paraded with the Crown Of Scotland from Edinburgh Castle to the Holyrood Scottish Parliament Building at the bottom of The Royal Mile

The Queen will formally open the fifth session of the Scottish Parliament tomorrow as part of a day of celebrations.

At around 10am the crown of Scotland will be transported down the Royal Mile from Edinburgh Castle to the Parliament accompanied by the 3SCOTS (Black Watch) pipes and drums.

The Queen will address the Parliament at 11am as part of a formal opening ceremony, which will be followed by a riding procession on the Royal Mile.

The bloke in the back of the car with the crown is none other than Alexander Douglas Hamilton - the 16th Duke of Hamilton

As an Englishman I can say that there are not many finer sights or sounds than a Scottish Pipe Band marching in full uniform to the sound of the pipes. Marvelous video, THANKS TO ALL. Makes me very proud to be British. They are a credit to Scotland and the UK.

I had the greatest pleasure in attending the Edinburgh military tattoo on three separate occasions, it was truly magnificent and watching that just brought it all back. There is no other sound like the pipes and drums that stirs the blood, brilliant and I am an Englishman. Thanks lads.

I am an American, born and raised, but I have Scottish ancestry and this video is wonderful! As a child, whenever there was a parade at an event or fair with Scottish pipes and drums, I'd run toward it and follow them, and my parents would find me later with tears streaming down my face. They couldn't understand it and neither could I at the time, but it was, and is, a feeling in my heart of being Scottish.

Greetings from the UK. Thank god these men are on our side. They would scare the p(i)ss out of me if I had to face them in battle. My grandfather told me that the Germans in the second world war quaked with fear when they heard the pipes, looking at these young men I can understand why. They are a credit to Scotland and a credit to the UK. God bless you lads

Whenever I am feeling a bit down, I put on the pipes here and feel energized just watching along.

English born and of Scottish mother, I am in awe of all these young men who are great role models for all our young people and to hear the bagpipes always brings a tear. If I had my time again, I would walk with you all. You are the pride of all the Uk. My heart is with my flower of Scotland.

I'm from the U.S. Tennessee specifically. There's nothing like this here. I get excited as hell, when I hear pipes and drums. I lose control, a few years back, there was one lone piper at the Christmas parade, I followed the man for half a mile, my wife had to make me come back. I have watched this parade countless times. I love it.
