I'm Scottish, i've lived in Scotland all my life, i've travelled Scotland, i never understood why people couldn't understand the Scottish accent. Recently I met 3 guys from Finneston in Glasgow (about 30 miles from where i live) and I did not have a clue what any of them where saying to me for at least the first hour 🤣🤣🤣.
