For some reason, this video came on my YouTube feed. I will be sailing on the Zaandam in two weeks. This will be my first Holland America Cruise. Thank you so much for this video. I will be in a large window room on deck 2. The tips you provided alone made my future trip worth while. I knew this was an older ship but the hacks and secret places will definite elevate this cruise. From what you mentioned about opening doors for wifi, I am glad I chose not to get the streaming wifi at $45.99, I can wait till I get to port to my free Verizon phone service offering when I reach Amber Cove. Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands are included as domestic service with my plan. One thing you didnt mention were the extra cruise credits you can get when booking such as $50 from being an AARP member (but you may be to you for this benefit) or the $100 cruise credit for being a Carnival share holder (Carnival is the owner of Holland America). I definitely will be will dine in the dining room and use room service. From what you describe and provide, my experience with this cruise line will be better than Celebrity or Norwegian. The Volemdam has that front viewing area on deck 6 also. A bunch of us watched the ship pass under the Golden Gate Bridge from there at dawn. Super cool.
