I always thought of their auras like this.

Pink: Flower - life. blooming. happy. closest to earth, so bottom of the insignia
Blue: Water - rain. tears. sad. in the sky, same level as yellow in the insignia
Yellow: Electricity - lightning. thunderous. angry. also in the sky, same level as blue in the insignia
White: Light - stars. distant. indifferent. beyond the atmosphere, top of the insignia.

Counter theory: White controls the Mind, Yellow destroys the Body, Blue warps the Heart, and Pink can lift the Spirit.

Pink Diamond creating diamond shards wasn’t because of a special ability, but because she applied enough heat [with her breath (2000 degrees Fahrenheit)] and pressure [with her own strength (725000 pounds)] to the carbon deposits on the dirt she picked of the ground.

Also, if I could choose to have the skill set of any given diamond, I would without a doubt choose Pink Diamond, since she seems like the most OP of them all.
