As Larry Bird said after the game. "He is the most exciting, awesome player in the game today. I think it's just God disguised as Michael Jordan."

Dude was just pretty much better than everybody on the floor. Extremely ahead of his time. Shit is crazy

I think that Jordan’s ball handling in his early years are severely underrated. Especially considering that this was the 80’s.

I remember my uncle told me he watched this game live with my dad, they were huge celtics fans. He told me when jordan started dropping 63 on them and they were literally switching defensive players on his to try and stop jordan my uncle said he looked over to my dad and said “I’ve seen some good basketball players but not like this guy, this guy is scary. I ain’t never seen anything like this, I’ve seen guys score 60 but not like that.” Watching this and watching others players score 60 is just different. Just the way jordan does it against the greatest team of the 80s is unmatched.

People saying only victory is important are lyers. Cause if Jordan won that game scoring 20 pts we will not remember it. Scoring 63 in a lose and more than 30 years ater we still talk abiut it.

Skeptics are going to say he scored on a bunch of unathletic old guys in this game but keep in mind Jordan has dominated the competition in 3 different eras. Even at age 40 with the Wizards and against younger and much more athletic players, this guy dropped 50 points.

What always goes under the radar about this game is how damn good Boston was this season. They went 67-15, and 40-1 at home (an NBA record). They were the 3rd ranked offense and 1st ranked defense. This was Larry Bird at his absolute peak, Kevin Mchale at his peak, Robert Parish and Dennis Johnson still very good, Danny Ainge was among the best shooters in the league, and a rejuvenated Bill Walton came off the bench and won 6th man of the year on this team. A total of 5 HOFERS. I’d put this Boston up with the 96 Bulls and 17 Warriors for the title of best ever, the passing, balance, and defense was outrageous. Yet, Jordan made them look mediocre all night long. Shows why he’s the G.O.A.T.

This is Michael Jordan coming to play on a recovering broken foot. The team doctors told him not to play, but he still played tough in a losing effort.

My grandpa watched this game. He said he never saw him miss a point, he also said you could tell this was going to happen from the first quarter, he was in the zone, and you could tell because when he would take a seat, everyone would move away from him and let him do his thing. My Grandpa is still alive today.

Jordan's 63 points still holds the record for most points in a playoff game.

As a Chicago kid, this was the first full game I watched while MJ was playing. Even though we lost, I remember jumping around staring at the TV like shit we(Chicago) got us one. My God was I correct! 😀

Thanks Mike!

And behold the Greatness of Jordan... he took a last placed Bulls team and turned them into a 6 Time NBA Champions... Dropping 63 on a Celtics Team that had H.O.Fers from the guards position right through to the Centre...

When MJ got fouled by McHale, he was only rewarded two free throws as the rules back then suggests that drawing fouls in 3-point attempts will only result in two free throws. If he played with the new rule of drawing foul in 3-point attempt = 3 free throws, he could have iced the game and atleast win one over the Celtics in the series.

Wow so that's what his old jumper was like. He improved like crazy. That combination of being psychotically competitive and naturally built for basketball was terrifying mix for sure.
