Watch stuff and learn and chill hi whatsup ⚔️👋🧐

Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through YouTube videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. Let's be respectful but, just as importantly, not be afraid to question any and everything about historical records in order to give us the most accurate representation of the history of our species and of our planet!

There have been at least a couple of films based on the premise that there were German raids on the UK. The wartime ‘Went the Day Well’ is about a group of Germans trying to take over a village as a precursor to a full invasion - well worth watching. And ‘The Eagle Has Landed’, with Michael Caine and based on the Jack Higgins story, about a raid the intention of which was to kidnap Winston Churchill.

The beaches were covered with bard wire and mines and there were also pipes that could pour burning oil all over the beach. The areas were also covered by the Home Guard. If this did take place it would be the talk of the area. Also there were Commandos testing out the defences on the South Coast

Hi Connor, it wouldn't surprise me if they had attempted this as tit for tat retaliation for the Bruneval Raid. Which occurred 6 months before, and was a combined operations raid led by the legendary Major John Frost of Arnhem fame. The raid succeeded in dismantling and carrying away an advanced German Radar system that most of the War Office refused too believe existed.

The UK has more coastline than France. It's number 12 on the world list with 12, 429 km. France is way down at number 27 with 4, 853 km.

Actually, the Germans did not need any special commando troops. The German paratroopers were so highly trained that they were perfectly capable of carrying out such operations. And if airborne troops really couldn't do it, there were always the Navy's combat swimmers. There were also other special units, e.g. from the SS, like the guys who liberated Mussolini in 1943. Here an example, how the strongest fortress of the world was knocked out by paras...

If the Germans new how the radar worked they would be able to counteract it

2:33 Wrong. The Channel Islands were occupied by the Germans for 4 years during the war, the only part of Britain that was invaded and occupied.

nice reactions, here a some thoughts and informations. 1. I know on a map the french coastline looks very long but complet coastline of britania are actual nearly 3 times so long then the french. 2. The point of raiding coastline stations could have be in my opinion to find informations about the warning system, like were is the main place and so on. 3. It could be that some raids happen but the Information was hold a secret by the government to not let the public panic.
