What would you think if your house was built from plastic waste?

Tbh because of its light weight I think like a tornado, earthquake etc will be a disaster and if a fire breaks out you will be trapped inside a melting building

In my country it would be illegal
Plastic is a hazard during fires

Concrete may be brittle but it’s a hell of a lot stronger than plastic. Diamonds would shatter like that if you threw them at the ground but they’re still a hell of a lot stronger than plastic.

fire, tornado, high temperature has left the chat

U cant break it but a giant building can

Good tensile strength strength, but weak compressive strength, no body is going to pull a building apart, but its weight is going to compress it together

This one is a good alternative for sandbag on military use i think rather than for building a house.

We also need to think about water damage - concrete blocks are made to expand slightly when water passed through them and it doesn’t seem like plastic has that capability

Concrete is meant to be compresed thats why cinderblicks break if you pull them apart or throw them

Apparently they burn around the same temperature wood does, but they still way it releases toxic gases lmao so idk if this would really work for like a building material. Maybe more for like a water barriers or something with some design changes

For those who are saying it could catch fire, I want to say that we could just use 1 layer cement on it so it couldn't take fire
I think this so useful

I dont need hamer
I can break the whole world with my fists
Its possible to break a brick with fists.

terrible to use plastic bricks, those concrete bricks are useful for conpression if its own weight, can only be torn apart if it was hit in its weak spot or pulling it apart

Just ignoring how while, yes, concrete blocks may crumble under a sudden shock while it's unsupported, in a structure where it's reinforced by other blocks, it's ability to resist deformation is essential. This is something that cannot be said for most plastics

It's more dorable than wooden structure when tested it Will win over the wooden structure in fire or storms and overall endurance

If it's durable they can crumble easier. Material needs to expand or tight as climate changes and deterioration occurs.

Except you can use just any plastics and the amount needed can not easily be produced so the blocks will be 100x more expensive to purchase for your builds. It’s like when they show plant fiber plastic plates to replace plastic plates, but the plant fiber ones cost $50 for 4 and the plastic ones cost $2 for 100.
