I finally come to the conclusion that there’s too many stupid drivers that really will take any offer along with the company’s greed it has completely ruined the industry

I drive my car privately and I need to make at least $50 an hr to pay my rent and bills, pay for gas maintenance and repairs pay for car insurance and then depreciate my vehicle then I have to put money aside for the next car and starting a 401K because we do not pay into Social Security and then put more money aside for retirement and no one makes enough to take a real vacation. Everyone is in a race to the bottom right now that Prop 22 was upheld. Drivers please turn your cars off and do something else.

My biggest question is: How can Uber be losing money when they do not bear the costs of vehicles, maintenance, fuel, insurance, and storage? These are all borne by the drivers and yet Uber still struggles to profit? This is evidence of either gross incompetence or gross corruption. Neither of which bodes well for drivers in the long term.

I’ve been driving for about 3 years in an area that has way to many drivers and without the promotions I’m not making enough to cover my costs. I’m at the point of giving up doing rideshare completely.

8 year driver here. There is NO bonus platform for me here in Vegas. My riders show me what they pay and ask what I get for the ride….no bonuses, WAY cheaper pay for drivers.

Sergio
You hit the nail. Most drivers don’t count cost of the car and depreciation of the car value after driving 60000 to 70000 miles per year. Really speaking hardly any driver is making any meaningful profit with Uber and Lyft.

i am currently recieving one call per hour, as an xl driver, in the tampa market, and those calls are only valued at around 5-8$ per ride. 2 years ago, i was averaging 20-30 calls over 5 hour shift..

Of the 10 or so people I've had in my car who worked at Uber under Dara ALL told me the same 2 things about working at HQ - it's a "toxic environment" and "chaotic shitshow ". And they said Dara drops F bombs on calls with lower level employees. Not professional.

DK does not care about the drivers at all, all he cares about is getting more drivers to drive for Uber and I will not be surprised if he deactivates people who complain about the rates we are getting paid.
Yesterday I was online for 5 hours on Uber and was able to complete 1 trip because the rides I was getting were garbage, on LyftI I was online for 6 hours 16 minutes and completed 2 trips, that tells you how bad also Lyft is, on Lyft platform I declined all garbage trips that were not priced properly, that tells you how much Uber and Lyft care about their drivers despite without hardworking drivers these companies would not exist.
Thank you Sergio for everything you do I am very grateful to know there is someone who cares.

Don't drive full-time. Don't rely on the money from Uber to pay bills, rent, food, car notes etc. Working for Uber is a crap shoot. I did 4 hours 1 day last week got big tips made 130.00. So far this week I worked 4 hours and made 50.00 bucks in NJ. I only do part-time and get the wallet to a certain amount, and I go to treat myself. Don't chase long pickup and don't do long trips they don't pay.

Dara says treat it as a small business. I did that. When my small a ll business ceased to be profitable, I STOPPED doing business with Uber. Now, 23 months later, I'm about to stop doing business with Lyft.

Dara is one person I hate the most in the world, he has destroyed my earning, my car with 336k miles, my finances and career driving for these crooks.
Now we can't make money their experience don't count their earning don't matter for loan. Destroyed my life driving.

In London the UK Uber fares are 80s prices and still hoping for someone to accept is so pathetic right now

hashimsabul

In Australia, fares are actually going down on 7th August for riders. Hence earnings will further reduce for drivers. With an overload of drivers for not enough rides and due to financial squeeze in the country, is it worth even doing rideshare anymore?

I sometimes wonder if Uber simply removes those low offers that we won’t accept to make it seem like another driver accepted it then adds it back at a slightly different rate
