the test will not allow you to have your own calculator. they will provide one but only on certain problems

In 10 minutes, you've explained this in such a way that I actually understand what I'm doing for the first time since ever. NO High school algebra teacher I had ever explained this and managed to get through to me. I'm getting ready for the ALEKS test at UAA, and I just went ahead and saved this playlist for reference.

I like your teaching style, however, when you say place the equation into your calculator maybe you might explain how. How do I place it into the calculator? I am new to a scientific calculator using the log symbol. I learned math and algebra without calculations. I do need tutoring in algebra and math. I am not good with mathematics and I have a scientific calculator that I do not know to use. I would like to learn how to get through math class for my college course.

when I divided log 16 by log 3 I got 1.526 not 2.523

this is extremely unhelpful prep for the exam because you took 8 minutes to explain one question that is so simple. Please get to the point because there are so many topics to cover so stop going off subject and moving things around, just solve the problem.

This seems wrong. And I haven't done math in 30 years. Who are these teachers? Log has a base, when it is not listed it is presumed to be 10. On this case the base is 3 hence a different number. So x=log16 with base 3.

I have a question. I've taken up to AP Calc BC, and I'm taking the ALEKS test at UNC. Instead of doing all of the steps you did I just plugged in LOGBASE 3(16) and got the same answer. Will that always work?
