What Does a DevSecOps Engineer Do?

whenever anyone talks about security roles other than engineer, it's always super abstract. i really don't understand what you do on monday morning when you log in? what literal tasks do you engage in?
i spoke with a contact who is a principal software engineer about DevSecOps and he described the stuff they have set up - eg static and dynamic code analysis, extensions that scan dev code as they write it, Snyk, things like that. so what does a DevSecOps person do then? it sounds like they already have most of this stuff implemented... so what do you do all day?

I'm finding this a couple years later, but as someone who ultimately wants to get into this role, this was helpful. I'm currently 23 and am a penetration tester who does mobile, cloud, web, etc engagements. Trying to get an understanding of what my career progression should look like.

hello, ive seen many of your videos, and you often speak on needing to know coding languages. could you expand on that? what languages? what are you doing with the languages? are you coding websites? are you coding algorithms? etc?
