Bhaktapur to -- Kathmandu Airport to -- Lukla Airport to -- Phakding

Our first day of 2 weeks of trekking the Himilayas to Mount Everest Base Camp! We took a scary plane ride to the smallest runway in the world and had a 3 hour hike to our first tea house!

***TRAVEL VLOG 114***

——————————————————

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

I wonder if the guy who was going up to the top successfully did it & returned. It's always scary to think that the people you meet going up to Everest might be dead now....

Watched this series when it first came out and I was 18. Everest has become my addiction ever since. I am planning a trek with my sister and I to EBC in the fall of 2023. Thank you guys for this. 🙌🏼

I love how your future friends Charlie and Gel are sitting right by you on the plane.

5:07! The first appearance of Charlie!

I'm re-watching your old episodes the way I re-watch Parks and Rec. Picking a favorite while I eat lunch. Everything about your vlogs has become more professional since 2016, and Nate definitely talks faster now than he used to.

Rewatching this series again in November of 2023 and I’m going OMG, Kara and Nate are young! When this series came out it was such an inspirational series for me. Helped me realize I didn’t have to be afraid to travel to new places!!! Also, your videos today have improved so much, but these were fabulous too!

Danybhad (nepali for 'thanks') guys for this video. This is my first comment on your various trips. Have been to Nepal three times but towards the tarai area (lowlands). My back condition prevents me from making treks. I am looking at all that you've seen here with teary eyes. I love Nepal and the people also. I watched this with much excitement and looking forward to your other videos on your trip to basecamp. Take care and enjoy every moment. These will be in your hearts for many, many years.

I'm a 27 year old small business Construction Company owner in California. I love watching your guys's videos I don't get to travel as much as I would like because I'm so busy you guys remind me you need to get out and live life. I love how positive and upbeat you two are, I also like that you guys reply to your viewers comments you seem like amazing people in a world full of negativity and political bullshit your channel is so refreshing.

Love this video! I have probably watched it 10 times! lol! I just returned from the EBC trek! I met Sonam (your guide) while staying in Lobuche the day before I went to base camp. He and I ended up bumping into each other at base camp, Namche, etc. Great video!

This video was randomly on my recommended and brings back so many memories. I trekked the Everest Base Camp almost exactly as the same time as you guys, so we might have even crossed paths. God bless, both of you and best of luck for the future. Thanks for this video.
