Suppose the mass of a fully loaded module in which astronauts take off from the Moon is 10,000 kg. The thrust of its engines is 30,000 N. (a) Calculate its the magnitude of acceleration in a vertical takeoff from the Moon. (b) Could it lift off from Earth? If not, why not? If it could, calculate the magnitude of its acceleration.

Hello sir! First of all, I wanna thank you for your effort in making these videos, they have been super helpful to me since I'm studying for my CETs. :))
I have a question though. Why is the acceleration due to gravity on Earth not negative 9.8? I remember our instructor once said to just always put on the negative sign to avoid confusion 😅 (I've tried to read more about this and I think I remember about the "absolute value of g" which makes it positive(??) But IDK I'm still kind of confused when and where to apply this concept.
(I'm sorry if my question is also confusing, English is not my native language 😅) Anyways I hope you have a nice day and I'd really appreciate it if you can respond! :)) Thank you so much po. <3
