Why am I not surprised. Bought a 1440 p months ago to prep for the ps5. I’ve had PlayStation my whole life. Now probably won’t buy one cause of this.

I dont understand why they wouldn't include it. Options are great since you have a considerable amount of pc gamers out there who are interested in ps5 but have 1440p monitors and it doesn't seem like it would be something hard to do for a next gen 4K capable console.

Xbox have generally been better with different TV resolutions over the years. Sony struggle to get things like Dolby Vision/Atmos working on their consoles

Sony needs to realize that their fans aren't kids anymore we want options I want higher frame rate without giving up too much resolution. I just started PC gaming about a year ago and I can't believe how fast 120hz are. I don't want to pay $1000 buck to get a 4k 2.1 TV when I have a 1440p 144Hz Monitor. Smh Sony please realize your mistake the fix it

I been reading about this for quite a while and I been thinking, lets face it probably almost no games will do 4k 120fps so the alternative would be to lower the res to achieve this, but with ps5 only having 4k and 1080p this would mean the only option to play 120fps would be to use the 1080p which is what most people use in the current gen right? I think this leaves such a large proportion of real gamers out.

What the hell are sony doing I was planning on buying a 1440p moniter with 144hz now I have to buy 4k tv for single player and 1080p for multiplayer. Maybe just buying a pc sounds better

So the ps5 can´t output native 4K and calls it self "next gen console" ????
There is no way i will get a ps5.
It cost as much as a XBOX Series X and can´t output native 4K.
I can care less about a faster SSD or 3D audio if your premium console can´t output 4K.

We need to ask SONY WHY
1. Why ps5 loads slower than XSX on most bc games even it has 2x faster ssd?
2. Why ps5 does not support native 1440p for PC monitors support?
3. Why ps5 does not support extrnal drive?
4. Why ps5 does not support VRR, LFC, Freesync Or Gsync etc etc...
5. Why ps5 does not support Auto HDR
6. Why ps5 does not have Quick resume
7. why ps5 does have the nveme disable at lunch you will have tops only 5 games installed no way to upgrade

Looking forward to testing this out on my set up. Although no one says that it will, I hope with my 1440p monitors w/ HDMI 2.0 it will downscale 4k vs. upscaling. from 1080p.

I’m so pissed bought a 1440 p for next gen cause I wanted higher fps rather than 4 k.. now I basically wasted 500 bucks and gotta buy a tv now? Fuck that I’m selling my ps5 preorder .. any takers? Or I’ll trade for the Xbox .. let me know

This was Not Nice to Announce when people have preorders for the ps5. I feel kinda bad for the ps boys. Xbox has kind of won this year I feel like. Unless Xbox announces that they will do the same as Sony
