STORY TWELVE: Fall is AMAZING! ... slow living in upstate NY

Happy fall!

Our leaves have peaked this week here in the Hudson Valley (upstate NY). And it's GORGEOUS! I may say the word "beautiful" 100 times in this video. I apologize in advance, lol, but I can't help myself. The world is absolutely beautiful right now and I'm so happy to share some scenes from my life this week with you all.

Tonight we have our first frost. So things at the cottage will look very different in my next video. So, I've tried to enjoy every last bit of the garden here this past week.

p.s. My pink dress is from Spell and the Gypsy. The purple dress is an old bridesmaids dress I thrifted years ago. Pretty sure it's from the 70s!

I want to find my cabin in the woods, paint it pink and crochet hats and wrist warmers. I will have cats, probably a dog or 2 and I will never stop learning, whether formally or informally. I want to live the next season of my life in absolute peace and awe of the world. Maybe a little travel, some warm homemade bread and butter, I want to take up ceramics again and learn how to hike harder trails, photograph more, complain less and own some good but cute boots. ;) You are an inspiration!

The autumn is such an amazing season. Our Heavenly Father made such a majestic statement with this time of year. The earth takes time to shed it's creative days and takes a nap. My family and I drove to Lake George last week and the foliage is just so gorgeous! This is what makes me love the fall season. I wasn’t able to take photos of the scenery myself coz I was just enjoying the moment while it lasted 🧡🍂🍁

I think many of us go through the same emotions you do when fall arrives. It's so beautiful yet so fleeting. I love every season, but if I had a magic wand, I would give one of the winter months to fall. Melancholy is the perfect word during fall because even though the scent, feeling of the air, and visual splendor is simply breathtaking, it is ushering in shorter days and cold weather that isolates us a bit from others. Not necessarily because of our choice alone, but many people stay inside during the cold winter. Still, there's a beauty in the quiet solitude of the winter when the earth is blanketed in snow and it's so silent you can actually hear the soft snowflakes settling onto the sparkling diamond snow. The air is crisp and clean and everything is hibernating peacefully until spring. I feel so blessed to live in an area that gets to experience all four of the beautiful seasons.
