Close Call & Silly Pedestrians Compilation

While some of these close calls are funny, some other ones could have ended up pretty badly if one of the parties wasn't paying attention. At times the city feels like a moving obstacle course... luckily these are only a few near misses, naughty people, but not major incidents. Have been collecting these videos over a few months, always too busy to do the editing, but I think this compilation is worth uploading.
Either you hate it or your heart will be pounding as you see a couple of inches could have made these fails a lot worse!

Pro tip: if stopping is not an option and you need to swerve, always swerve in front of the pad on their eyesight. Instinct says to go behind (as they are walking out of that space) but many have a delayed reaction and will step back, into the path resulting in likelihood of collision.

Two things strike me about these . . the number of people that wander across within 10 seconds wandering of a marked pedestrian crossing where they have a proper legal priority to cross, and the number of people dragging their kids through traffic, then they wonder why kids get injured on the roads.
You could really use a thin plastic wand think (think car radio antenna thickness, but whippy) on a spring you can remote release to "Thwack" then across the back of the knees as you pass... (Not being serious, but it might teach them)

I'm really thankful that I have the option "forest-route" on my commute. There are no pedestrians, just deers and squirrels :-)

I fully believe pedestrians should have more priority in our cities than they do because it can take too long to walk short distances, but some people are just idiots.

I should send you the clip of the pedestrian who suddenly appeared at my shoulder in the middle of a huge junction while I was waiting to turn right. We were about 4 car-lengths from the nearest pavement and he just walked to the front of the queue and ‘lead’ the way... 😒

I gave up cycling into Dublin City Centre, between Dubliners and touristy people it has become impossible to move on our roads.
But looking at London it looks just as bad.
I take the DART into the city now 😟
