ou #8 is smart! Great way to funnel passionate users into future research ops. Also referrals sound like a really good idea because I imagine you get pre-screened peeps that are likely very similar to the person you are talking to! Haven't done this myself tho

Hi Kevin! Great channel!!!! I know you did a few videos about UX Research portfolios, but since I'm new to Research, I'm having a problems with timing... I mean, what should I do if a recruiter ask me for a portfolio but I don't have one yet, or I'm still finishing my first UX case? What should I do if I don't have anything yet, but it's crucial to send something in a short amount of time?

How do you determine the sample size? I've heard 5 - 8 is a good number to find 85% of the problems but is there a way to calculate it?

I'm doing pro-bono research (via user interviews) to build my portfolio with a start-up, and welp we got no $$$ to offer as an incentive...how would you go about trying to get ppl to do a 20-30 min interview without any money to offer...I've got some ideas, but man its hard to ask for that much time without compensation.
