The experience of being Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC) abroad can range from feeling comforting to isolating, depending on the racial make-up of the people in the host country. The BIPOC experience is not a monolithic one. Depending on how you present yourself, in addition to other physical identities you hold, it may be reassuring to have resources or tools beforehand to keep in mind.
