that story about Edge of Tomorrow was unbelievable, wasn't expecting Liman to be that candid and then reworking it by re-shooting Tom Cruise's shots was ingenious as that scene is super memorable and important in establishing Cruise's character. love this series

This was amazing. I wasn’t expecting much. Maybe a Vanity Fair -style overview. For something that could have been a short, fluffy, get to know you sort of piece, I found this incredibly candid and insightful. I especially loved his bit about Brendan Gleeson’s attitude. It wasn’t so much of a judgement about Gleeson, but a recognization of the circumstances that made him that way. I haven’t seen any of the other director interviews you’ve done, but I will right now.

Wish Tony Scott was still alive to do one of these.

It may be an unpopular opinion but I think Doug Liman made the best Bourne movie. It is the only one I ever rewatch these days, frankly the sequels made my eyes tired.

Mr & mrs. Smith is one of my favorite movies!! They have the best chemistry, it was perfect for them. Greetings from Bolivia 🇧🇴 🇧🇴🇧🇴

I feel like Doug Liman needs a hug after watching this. He has the Michael Bay naivety to film making without his horrible lazyness into everything not happening in front of the camera. Doug just wants to make movies that do not suck and he seems incredibly aware when he fails to do so.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith as a thriller would have made it so boring...but Angelina Jolie playing it that way makes it funnier.

I love that he takes very little credit. Like all his favorite shots were basically an accident

That scene in Swingers is one of the most painful scenes to watch in any movie. His choice to do it as a oner with a non-moving camera was the right choice.

Very cool trivia around Edge of Tomorrow. Gleeson kinda went down in my estimations here - moaning about the credibility of the movie he is starring in while also happily taking the paycheck associated with it.

As much as love Edge of Tomorrow or Bourne or Mr and Mrs Smith or American Made or Go! Or any other of his other movies he hasn't made a movie as rewatchable as Swingers which is a masterpiece. He's so money and he doesn't even know it

What about back in the day when you used to do homemade movies and DIY costumes

I'm shocked he decided Mr. and Mrs. Smith should be a comedy after weeks of filming. Should it be decided in the script stage?

They don’t make homemade movies anymore like they use to
