Awesome guide, as always! One confusing part though. In the last dialogue, you said to select 1, 1, 1. That is correct, but your visual prompt said 1, 2, 1.

For anyone just stepping into the ring and moving letters, that's your problem. Random codes are of little use.
Go to the wiki and set a proper destination code.
If your selected code is to a locked destination, you will just bounce a square and say, blah blah hardly moved blah. That is a place you need to unlock by questing or other unlock.
If you put the code for your current location you will stand still, but say nothing.
If you find a code, try D-K-R, you will go to Edgeville, and it will list on your code sheet on the right.
At least 1:code is to the Wilderness. I don't know about other dangers. So if you decide to just go jumping, take nothing so you don't lose bank. I randomly set 7 destination codes, then realized I had 250, 000gp worth to lose, so I banked.
