How To Setup A Windows Domain Controller (AD, DNS, CA, and DHCP)
Показать описание
QUICK NOTE:
I had a fact wrong in this video: You can run ANY client OS on ANY forest/domain functional level, but you CANNOT have a Domain Controller below the Domain Functional Level.
In this video, I walk through how to build a domain controller on Hyper-V. The steps are the same for a physical server as well running either Windows server 2016 Standard, Windows Server 2016 Datacenter, Windows Server 2019 Standard, Windows Server 2019 Datacenter. This will work with Server 2012 and 2008, however, those OS versions are no longer supported/losing support within two years.
I also walk you though installing and configuring Domain Name Services (DNS), Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP), and Certificate Authority (CA) on that Domain Controller.

Leave your comments and questions below or in my Discord server. I do my best to answer every question. I can go into NPS, RADIUS, Group Policy, Mapped Drive Pushes, Printer Deployment, and much more if needed.

"A domain controller is a server that responds to authentication requests and verifies users on computer networks. Domains are a hierarchical way of organizing users and computers that work together on the same network. The domain controller keeps all of that data organized and secured."
"Active Directory (AD) is a database and set of services that connect users with the network resources they need to get their work done. The database (or directory) contains critical information about your environment, including what users and computers there are and who's allowed to do what."
"A certificate authority (CA) is a an organization that acts to validate identities and bind them to cryptographic key pairs with digital certificates."
