79 F150 400 0-60 comp cam

My 1979 F150 with a 400, C6 with shift kit, Edelbrock intake and Quick Fuel 600 carb.

Of the many trucks like that... I had a "sleeper" it was a F150 with a 400, it had 4bbl 351C intake/Heads with spacers I made on my mill...a pretty radical for the 80s (degree numbers slip my old mind) Solid flat tappet Cam I had 4.10 gears and a toploader 4-speed...out of a Mustang...I would be wound out at the end of the quarter, but that thing from 4500-6000 was wicked... Most people were shocked to see it wasn't a 460, but the 400 actually had enough cubes to use those huge 4V heads... Now today you can buy aluminum heads with the smaller ports that flow better than those old iron 4V clunkers... Sure was fun to take out and smoke the New at the time "5.Slow" Mustangs on the weekends...

I'm a huge fan of Fords underated 400 motors yours runs quite strong I'm quite impressed is your carb vacuum secondary? it kind of seems like it

Is this only with the upgrades listed? What all did you do to the engine I’m interested in doing this to my 79 bronco with a 400
