Lmao, yes game engines are more easy than app development tools. I've did some web apps with Godot too.

Anyone know the performance implications?

Reason being is that they taught C++ and Java in my computer science classes, but never really taught a way to make *actual* non-CLI programs. (You know, the programs that everyday people (and even most CSC students) think of as programs.)

It would be really cool if Godot filled that missing role.

Looks good! However, the hardcoded colors in the scripts look time consuming to swap if you ever want to change them.
But overall it was nice and I did discover a few features I didn't know yet.

Nice ideas, execution needs some polishing, as the code as well.
Using pixel size in logic is sury not robust.
Using sprites in control nodes also is not good.

I want to make translucent ui like windows 11, but I don't know how to make translucent shader in 2d shader. Do you have any idea how to get that kind of effect ?

Does c++ faster than gdscript? And can you make a gui with another graphics softwares like Photoshop?
