idk what it is about this opening. it’s very atmospheric and nothing crazy going on but it just has that build up. like how some other anime openings do. the visuals mixed with the build up of the music really hits different. the whole series itself feels like a journey even tho it’s filler for some reason you still care cause this movie was the send off. i rmbr finishing the 03 series back in 2011 or 2012. and now seeing this in 2024 really makes me appreciate it much more

The loss of friends and family, the need to kill in order to protect, facing a world that brings even a hardened serial killer to tears, Al carrying the weight of 10, 000's of souls on his hollow shoulders. Their bond only grew through these hardships and when it came time to sacrifice everything for each other, neither hesistated. This will always be my favorite anime and my inspiration to be a better person in so many ways.

This is still one of the best movie openings ever. If you owned the DVDs, to see the art of them in the opening is almost like a trip down memory lane. Everything you went through with the characters led to this movie.
