my art teacher showed us a lot of your videos in class and everyone was talking about how "this must be the coolest things we have seen in art"

Little note, Asymmetrical eyes are a thing so its fine to not draw the eyes that the same height.
Be aware if your doing tho, personally i think eyes give a lot of character especially when not "perfect".
nothing against the advice, but all blanket statements that include "Never" always have there exceptions.
great vid tho

I did not expect for so much easily comprehensible info/tips to be packed into a 4 minute video. I saw an immediate improvement in the eyes I’m drawing after watching this. Thank you!!

one helpful way to get your eyes to look right from perspective: draw sideways triangles with a curved side line facing in the direction you want your eye to face, and then from there go and fill in the rest of the details. Eventually you can stop relying on that but knowing where the corners of the eyes are and where they "open up" will help a lot! On a face, they'll look vaguely like this:

I definitely need to redo how I'm going to learn art, now that I've switched from anime to slight realism. My art has been pretty inconsistent for a while, and I keep forgetting the fundamentals in making good art, so this was very helpful.

wow I've seen almost every single eye tutorial on the internet probably, and I've drawn a lot of eyes, but I still learnt from this.
So well put and to the point. Don't click off, trust me.

It also helps to draw the shape of the eyes first, when you sketch the head. The rough size of the eyes is easier to compare than single strokes.

One thing that instantly fixed my 'other eye' problem on top of working on both eyes simultaneously was starting with the eye that would always end up bad, which was the left one for me. Never had that problem again

Another small tip: When you look down, your eye lips never stay exactly the same, they droop as well. Just a fun realistic touch that I use, but *god* was this video helpful!

This is a great video!!! I'm just an old lady teaching myself to draw and paint and I definitely want to work on drawing eyes just because they are so fascinating and beautiful! This was such a great speed, very clear and descriptive without all the fluff :)
Thanks so much!!!

I usually don't like videos that tell you not to do something when it comes to art, but I have been doing digital art for 5 years and I haven't realized the thing about drawing the eyes at different heights, it makes so much sense! I've been doing that, and my drawings still look good, but I will definitely use this piece of advice for now. Thank you!

Oh god... With the height of eye thing I actually used to make the eyes the same height and different width.... but upon seeing other people make theirs shorter I did the same.... I was right in the beginning.... no wonder the eyes always looked back from an angel-
