In spite of Pete's drumming talent, or lack of it, I just can't help but feel bad for Pete.

I mean, getting fired from the most iconic, legendary bands of all time in history just as that band was on the cusp of their international fame and fortune.

It's not like he got fired from a band that would have a few years of success only to fade into obscurity. He got fired from THE BEATLES, for crying out loud. A band that whose name, music, fame, and fandom that still lives on, even decades after it broke up.

Pete eventually went on to a 20 year career as a civil servant, helping unemployed people find jobs.

I know how many times he's said he's perfectly fine and happy with how things turned out for him. But still, I can't help but think there just had to be a few times when he'd be sitting in his civil service office, filling out paperwork, dealing with the daily drudgery of his 9-5 job, and resentfully think about The Beatles. How much more money they're pulling in than him (I would think they earned more in one day than Pete earned in a lot of years). How much fame they have/had. How they're living in the lap of luxury while he's struggling to pay the rent and put food on the table for his family. If I were in Pete's shoes back then, I know that's what I'd be thinking about.

Along with most people, I still think that Pete Best was wrong for The Beatles in the long run. However, I'm grateful that he received his salary for the time that he did spend with The Beatles. Plus, in my opinion, I would say that he performed fairly well in this video, along with the other musicians. I wish Pete all the best in keeping his life healthy and productive for the remaindering years of his life.

It's so nice to see one famous person as he is jammin' with anybody. Humble person, perhaps shy, always by the side of the people. Pete, you are a great man !

Wow, this video leaves no doubt as to why the Beatles dumped him. It wasn't because of jealousy, that's now crystal clear.

Well one thing is clear after watching this, Pete Best stayed true to his original style: no real concept of time, feel, form, dynamics...😉

Pete is a lovely guy, and he’s a decent drummer who can hold his own against most. But let’s be honest, he doesn’t even hold a candle against Ringo! And it isn’t surprising that he was replaced by him.

However, you have to admire him for having the audacity to make a career out of being “kicked out of the Beatles”. He could have easily cowered away living an ordinary life, never to make a penny from his contribution to the Beatles. But because he created an entertaining story over his unfair sacking, it led to an interesting and unusual career which involved being invited onto talk shows, selling best sellers, and making $2 million from the Anthology.

Not bad for someone with less than stellar musical talent!

If he won't hit that goddamn crash every 5 seconds, he would sound a couple of times better.

Coming from a drummer who has never really been as great as Ringo and Simon Philips, it’s clear to see why Pete was sacked. Seriously, those double crashes are so annoying.

I know he's older than me and even though I'm 28 as a drummer who knows about timing I feel like I could help him out a lot plus knowing what part of the kit to hit at what time. Laying down a beat and hitting different parts of the kit is one thing but the most important thing overall is.., timing.

For all those drum experts, Best might not be the best (no pun intended) but he's a nice guy who's having fun and making some money. Besides, no one can take away the fact that he played with the Beatles for 2 years, something none of us can brag about.

It’s okay that he got sacked from the Beatles. Few people are good enough to play with John Paul and George

His drumming is shocking in this clip. I'm hoping there were technical difficulties that were causing him to miss beats and be so inconsistent with his timing.

He knows this material like the back of his hand. I think he did all right here, considering his age and not having played regularly in decades.

With all due respect his drumming is really off. I’m not trying to be rude or anything. However, Ringo Starr is a better drummer and was better for the Beatles.
