Southern states struggle to clear snowy roads

People in the South has 0 experience driving in the snow. Idiots driving like it is sunshine outside and going full speed. And they slam on their brakes when it get slippery and fly off the ditch.

These states needs to learn how to drive in snow.

This is something we deal with in Western NY every winter. Some years are worse than others, but we're conditioned to it. Many of the Southern states are ill prepared for it.

The primary reason for being unprepared for the snow is that being prepared requires dedicating a lot of resources on it: plows, snow blowers, shovels, salt, storage for all of these for the entire year, and then training employees for operating them safely. It is much easier to simply stop all business across the southern states for those 2 days in 5 years than to do all that to keep the state running. It's not like we don't know what snow is and how it can be dealt with, its just not worth the time and money to stay equipped because we don't have to deal with it often.

"The good news in Houston is that the sun is out". Yeah, um, when it snows and it's still cold and the sun comes out, that is ideal for making some black ice. Pro tip, if your car is not doing what it should do with your throttle and steering inputs, don't add more severe input. Mega pro tip. Stay home and eat the macaroni from the pantry. Don't go out and drive unless you HAVE to, which I doubt. Don't drive in any hilly areas. Don't speed up a hill to maintain momentum just to crest the top of the hill and find out it's pure ice on the other side as you slide down into a pile up. That's like opening a door on a submarine where you aren't sure if it goes to the mess hall or seals the submarine from the sea water.

This is kinda funny. Im in Mn and we get lot of snow in the past. But last year we got like only 3 big snows. This year, we only have 1 snow and it wasn’t even big big, like 3-4 inches. Guess the snow moves South to states that never had snow before. Lol
