Ok so here is my EVE Echoes guide to mining with a full in-depth breakdown of my spreadsheet which I use to determine the best ore to mine to make money (hint if you can mine in low-sec it is spodumain) - Mining is a really good way to kick start your income in EVE Echoes Mobile and it can help you get a few million ISK to build your favourite ships and start the real fun!

Ok my tip. Disable Auto orbit when mining. Stay still in range to all the asteroids you want to mine. Align your miner to a planet, a gate, etc for a quick jump if you need, stop again. And always pay attention to local chat. Happy mining.

I just purchased a Venture and strapped two mining lasers to it, I just mined plagioclase from an asteroid belt in the Pakhshi system and made half a million ISK

If you hold down on orbit a radius circle pops up and you can set your orbit from 0km to around 100km

I do believe a new setting released with the update. Corrects problems with AFK mining.

So when you get attacked what does cloaking do exactly? You are not targeted anymore and cloaking cant be interrupted?
