As a longtime rangers fan, it really sucks to see what happened to him. I loved watching him play as a ranger.

I’d love to see one on Jose Bautista how he started and finish his career I think he had a roller coaster career and I’d love to see a video

I’ll never forget how the rangers celebrated with non alcoholic champagne when they won their playoff series so josh could celebrate with them. We all have demons and josh Hamilton will forever be one of my favorite players because he was a real human being who went through real human struggles. A lot of times we see these guys as machines who are emotionless when in reality, most if not all struggle with something

Wherever he is now, Hamilton's story of overcoming drug addiction and depression to become an MLB superstar will always be inspiring to me.

As a recovering addict, I appreciate Josh's story and he was my favorite baseball player for several years.

Man... to see this guy be at the lowest point of his career, Yankee Stadium showcase, his years in Texas, 2010 AL MVP, to being out of Baseball 😭

Man, how do I feel about Josh Hamilton?? I idolized him. Copied his stance & everything since I was a lefty...and it actually was a perfect stance for me at the time. Dude no matter the downs, is a LEGEND! And if u take him at his best and put him up against the all time greats...he truly belongs there. He was THATTT good! Just hope he's doing well now since being out of the game. With the laced shit going around nowadays, a relapse could end up tragic so I pray for that man. GOD BLESS!!!

I just came across this video.
Regardless of how you feel about Josh's "choices" in life, he was, and always will be, one of the purest hitters and 5 tool players in my generation (I'm 55). And I will stand by that with granite feet. Unfortunately, we only got to see a mere glimpse of what could have been. What he could have done we'll never know. But it is refreshing to see a video about him that highlights the good, and not bad of his career.
Josh...wherever you are and whatever you're doing, I hope you have found peace in your life. You will always be one of my favorite ballplayers for what you did on the field.
And I'm saying this as a long time Rays fan knowing what you did in Texas was supposed to be in a Devil Rays uniform and watching your Rangers team beat us in the postseason 2 years in a row.
Peace brother.

if not for the relapses, i definitely think he would’ve been a for sure hall of famer, good guy too

He was one the most obviously talented baseball players I ever saw. I could tell in spring training with the Reds that he was a one in a million talent. His swing was effortless and generated so much power . He could throw and run too. Players with his kind of gifts don't come along very often.

Josh Hamilton was my favorite player of all time. I still have his picture on my wall. What broke my heart was that when he went to the angels he said Arlington was never a baseball city anyway, but when he came back he said he was sorry and was wrong. Wish he could be a hall of famer I love him

Next to A-Rod, he was the best raw talent I’ve ever seen put on the rangers uniform. The dude could hit for avg and power, great defender, good speed and had a canon for an arm. It was a joy to watch him and hopefully he is doing fine and finds peace.

Illicit Drug policies in a lot of sports leagues are very poorly handled in terms of providing support systems for suspended players. In a lot of leagues, the suspended player is basically banned from all team facilities and has little to no interaction with teammates or the organization. The policies often effectively put the player into forced isolation. Which is almost the worst possible thing to do to someone with drug abuse issues.

Josh fought and continues to fight a lot of demons. What an incredible story. Hope he can stay clean.

Hamilton was born to play baseball. He was one of the most naturally gifted players ever and one of the best prospects coming out of high school ever.

gahhh if Nelson Cruz makes that catch in G6, we would look at Josh's career SO much differently.

I had the privilege to meet Josh Hamilton 2 times while he played for Texas . He was a true professional. He was honest, kind, and friendly. I just felt like we had known each other forever. We all make mistakes in our lives, I know I've made mine, but he manned up and got his life back on track and that is how a human being should be measured, not that he fell a few times but that he got up and made it work. He was one of the all time greats. I loved to watch him play the game of baseball. He was a real natural. I hope Josh is doing well today. He'll always be one of my favorite and memorable ball players. Remembered for the good that he did in the game of baseball, not the stumbles he may have encountered. He will always be in our family's prayers. Thank you Mr. Hamilton for the way you played the game.

Great video. Josh was my favourite player growing up and made me into the baseball fan I am today. Great to hear how he was able to find religion and help him out of his addictions. Wish him the best
