Did we record several new French songs last month?...Enough to make an entire album??...I mean, I don't want to get your hopes up or anything.

Françoise Hardy passed away today (June 11th, 2024). She was 80.
Thank you for keeping her songs alive.

Love it! A bit of context about this song:
It's a French adaptation from "It hurts to say goodbye", an American song by Arnold Goland and Jack Gold. Francoise Hardy has asked Serge Gainsbourg, the greatest French songwriter of his time (ever?) to adapt the orchestral version.
Gainsbourg was known for playing with words and sounds, and for his cheeky and provocative attitude. He's written the entire verses with unusual rhymes in "ex" which, like in English, is a shortened version for "Ex-wife", "ex boyfriend"...
The syncopated pace with 9-syllable lines is also unusual, giving a playful tone to the song that contrasts with the lyrics (about separation).

Natalie really nails that French 60's short-hair-style look and I love the bands matching Bandanas :D

It takes superb mastery of the French language to sing this clever humorous song so flawlessly. Brillant, comme nous disons en France.

French people... how are they all so beautiful? I went to Paris once and I almost died. Every single human being... gorgeous! And in so many ways!

J'ai écouté cette chanson quand j'étais petite et il m'a fallu beaucoup de temps pour la réentendre, et maintenant j'ai 56 ans. Merci beaucoup.

This just oozes 1960s Paris. I just can’t stop listening to this track. I remember Françoise Hardy’s version from my childhood . Encore!

I strongly suspect we will never see Pomplamoose perform Fatal Bazooka's "Fous Ta Cagoule".
While this might be a good thing, part of me wonders what they'd do to it.

Françoise Hardy? What a great idea. A style icon of the 60s - for very obvious reasons. A renowned french composer and musician.

Vos performances sont excellentes mais ce que j’aime aussi beaucoup c’est votre simplicité, votre plaisir de jouer ensemble dans un bel esprit de camaraderie.

I am from Québec and thought that she was French!! She fooled me for sure! Love her takes on these classic French songs that used to play here when I was a child in the 60's!!
