Officer O’Connor was shot in the back of the head while transporting a suspect. Today, 1/8/2018, we escorted him to the airport from SLU Hospital where he will go to Colorado for treatment.

2021 Update: Officer O'Connor is doing well and back at home spending his time with family. His wife Barbara says it best, "We are overwhelmed by the continued outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and strangers both near and far. While we still face unique challenges and are always learning to adapt to whatever comes next, Ryan is a reminder to count your blessings, not your heartaches!"

Okay YouTube Community, we need prayers. I thought I would update everyone. The video of Officer O’Connor being escorted to a rehabilitation hospital has received over 7 million views worldwide! That means people from all around the world knows his story. Those people come from different religious and cultural backgrounds. A few weeks ago Officer O’Connor was diagnosed with COVID-19. O’Connor is now in the ICU on a ventilator fighting for his life once again. We know that he is a fighter! The family is asking the community for prayers. What better community then the worldwide community I have right here! Please keep him in your prayers and I will update you when I can.

My favorite bit, besides the fact that over a dozen agencies helped in the escort, was the fact that along the way EVERY SINGLE fire department was out, at attention, showing their respect. Seeing this sort of solidarity between first responders is amazing and beautiful.

Thank you for this. It was a tearful memory for me as my cousin Chad LeCroy (Georgia State Patrol #744) was killed right after Christmas 2010 by being shot in the head for pulling a guy over with a tail light out. I miss him and am prayerfully thankful that officer O'connor survived. My heart goes out. Thank you, LEO's for risking your lives daily to protect ours!

Can y'all just imagine. Your whole PD escorting you. Such loyal officers with the respect of escorting a brave man. God bless the good officers left in our world. This world can, mean so many things. I'm happy that the brave officer who got shot is living a healthy life. And thank you to those who escorted him, and waited for him at the airport.

I'm Sicilian and here in Catania there are many soldiers of the US army, the song gives goosebumps when it says "if I were far from home" I can imagine the hearts in the throat of the families. in my small way I have always tried to help the compatriots who live here trying to make them feel at HOME. GOD BLESS YOU 🙏

One of the things I love most of America, the respect for officers and military and firefighters and others who works with emergency services

Yes there are a very very VERY small number of “bad officers” but there are also THOUSANDS of brave men and women who risk their lives to protect us daily. Good luck officer O’Connor
