The backup singers in this song are among the most creepy/terrifying things I've ever seen in a movie. Brilliant. This movie is so good.

This is the scariest part of the movie. They way the muses built up the tension then at the end the director backlit them to make them menacing as they leaned forward in anticipation of the kill. Then slowly disappear into the dark ally. The director handled the scene perfectly.

That's the greatest bass guitar riff.

I love how the ladies are filmed in silhouettes & shadows with only the glitter of their dresses & shoes to highlight the ominous event to come. So very well filmed 🐯

This whole sequence really drove home that this was "The Point of No Return".
The ladies really complete the scene as a callback to the Greek Choruses, part-storytellers/part cast members.
The part that always sticks out to me is the briefest glimpse of them in the shadows when Mushnik leans in.

"When hes gone the world will be yours". Notice how audrey 2 looks in the mirror when he says that.

We will most likely never ever see perfection is effects and puppeteering like this again. Thank You all the people for this movie and bringing Audrey ll to life.

The shot of their gloves looking like blood stained hands, the sound of their heels clicking in unison, use of shadows. This scene and the music it's all too much 😍

Can we just give a round of applause to Levi Stubbs Vocals? RIP

2:48 I love how Audrey II slowly drops his head and gives Seymour the non verbal message like "Don't worry about it Seymour. Bring him this way".

The way the plant lowers it's head and open it's mouth as the song plays...haunting. ❤

I always like to think when Seymour says "just feed it" he unintentionally meant it literally but some part of him REALLY meant it lol

This scene was excellently acted by everyone including the puppeteers. All the nuances, and subtleties. The music, singing, everything!!!!

The greek chorus’ glittering purple costumes coming out of a dark alley is just 😘👌 perfection. Horror + musical in a nutshell. Also love the piano riff in this song so much.

The background singers are the highlight of this for me.

The Doo-Wop girls coming out during this number always gives me goosebumps. It’s almost like the ultimate betrayal. A line crossing for these characters. They go from just some poor girls playing pretend and dress-up, harmless enough.. to what seems to be monsters lurking in the shadows, actively pressuring Seymour to give in. It’s just like the tonal switch in this film. It was just A LITTLE dark at first until this murder, which was not only particularly gruesome but also upped the stakes drastically. Their voices really set in the “there’s only one way out of this. Let’s go.” Tone That Audrey 2 uses to manipulate Seymour. It makes you realize that now, just like the characters, these girls are 3 narrators getting caught up in something way bigger than themselves. But unlike the cast, they’re not scared. They’re ghostlike passive bystanders who know they can’t be harmed so they switch to being Audrey 2’s back up for this number.

I just noticed how Seymour slowly backed Mr. Mushnik towards Audrey II, what a great movie this is!
