Oh our sweet gal, you’re one in a million! I was born in the wrong century too! My love is of old things and the old ways… Yes, we do fit ourselves in with the present, but yearn for our ancestors’ knowledge of making it on a little of nothing and surviving! Love your videos! Thank you for sharing all things with us! Hugs friend.

Cooking in a dutch oven over wood or charcoal fire is so much fun. Baking bread is so simple, if you can bake bread in a regular oven you can do it in a dutch oven. Also, dutch ovens make the very best pizza. Your kids will love it!!!

I was born in India, although living now in Australia for a bit over 50 years. Back in India in my younger years we cooked on an outdoor chula which was a steel bucket with an opening cut out at front to put wood or coal in. The frame of the bucket on the inside was covered with a wet mud like paste which, after it dried, was ready for cooking. The mud paste came up from the inside to the top on which a steel grate was placed to rest your pots and pans. Another idea is the good old webber or even the outdoor firepit.

So exciting with new garden plans! We’re changing things up as well, we have some weeds trying to take over my garden. We both work full time and with the commute we’re gone really long days so we need simple systems.

Rachel is amazing. She spoke on my online summit this year. I'll be traveling to Alabama in November to speak at Daryl's herb conference and there are a lot of really great speakers there. I just ordered some rabbit tobacco seeds from Prairie Moon Nursery. I am praying they germinate. 🙏

Glad to hear from you! Every time you say HOA, I think homeowners association, lol. Wish I had some of your elderberries and fire cider - I've been down with a cold for 3 days.

You need to watch and perhaps contact Miss Lorie and Mr. Brown from Whipperwill Holler. They use Woodfield stoves inside and out. As Miss Lori always says " Keeper of the old ways but can embrace the new. Their content is spot on

When we go camping we exclusively cook over a campfire. There is definitely an art to it, and ideally you want cast iron camp ovens and a good quality griddle plate to make it work.

Being Australian, we have a bread we cook in camp ovens over coals called damper. It doesn’t use yeast, and is therefore best eaten straight away. It might be worth searching up a recipe and giving it a try.

Hey girl. You may consider winter seeding some of the rabbit tobacco. That was a generous gift he gave you 😀

I have some Balm of Gilead I got from health store. It has tallow in it and it's good for dry/eczema skin. I use it on my heels. Sooo good.

Love your excitement!
On another note, went back to watch your video with your husband but noticed it was gone- hope it didn’t get taken down by YT!

It’s hard to know how a space will work for you unless you just try something and it’s smart to pivot so the space works better. I think you are making wise choices. And as for you moving and gaining more land, I can’t think of anyone who has used the space they have more efficiently. That is a good way to qualify for the Lord giving you more.
I like your dress!

I am so sorry for my hiatus.... Last week I had injection day and that throws me for a week long loop. But I am recovering. Now I just need to get these two ear infections under wraps. I have liked, shared and currently commenting...LOL... Hope everyone does while I catch up. Fall is here... I need brain power to figure out how to save my tomatoe plants so they can survive till the tomatoe babies can grow into edible things from all my hard work this summer....
I hope everyone is well and Hugs from Esquimalt.... Oh and I was number 691 this time
