It seems to come not from an esport point of view but a financial standpoint, they just wanted a big cashgrab and the biggest is just a Faker skin.
A real hall of fame introduces players after their careers.

Riots growing greed had been so noticeable over the last couple of years. You should look at the offerings in the battle passes how they get worse and worse with each iteration. How they keep pumping out new champs for the purpose of skins rather than game[;ay elements. I'm just glad everyone is finally united enough to collectively shame them.

Make the skin $50 dollars, the bundle $500, sour a community's favor which has already been on an aggressive downturn, and make about $10, 000 instead *and* ruin even more favor from your community.

It’s almost as if Riot used faker as a huge cash grab. Instead of wanting to actually honor a legend and icon of their game. Instead just want to use him as a market ploy to milk. This whole price controversy feels like a slap on the face. Even if you don't care much about competitive league or esports you can't deny the impact Faker had on lol esports over 10 years.

-from his incredible skills
-to the many worlds he won
-to his overall personality and sheer determination and passion for lol competitive

These things showed how much Faker truly defied League as a whole. So to see him be granted in the Hall of Fame to be *immortalized* was really exciting. YES before the price was revealed a lot of us in the community were excited about this skin. From the preview trailers to the cinematic to the overall gameplay of that skin was really cool. A lot of us actually wanted it not because the skin looked cool but in honour of Faker's legacy.

And then everything changed when the price was revealed. the fact that *YOU CAN'T REROLL THIS SKIN AFTER THE EVENT* feels like a sick joke for a skin that's supposed to immortalize Faker's legacy. even if Riot listens the only minimal changes they can do is lower the price to like idk $250 (which still doesn't justify buying this) or make it where we are allowed to reroll this skin post-event. regardless it's not worth it.
