Aeris 3 in 1 Update #2 Klaara P7 Pro iRobot
Hello - this is Doug with another Aeris/Klaara P7 update…

So, some folks are asking where they can get the Klaara P7 which is supposed to replace the original Aeris 3 in 1 unit. In the last update I provided a few weeks ago - I mentioned that the Klaara was only being sold in Japan and it was expected to be available in the United States sometime in 2024.

Well, unfortunately things have gone south for iRobot since that update.

Here is a quick history for those of you new to the situation: Aeris the air purification company was founded in 2015 and their air purifiers were elite - so much so, that iRobot acquired their company November, 2021 for about, $72 million dollars…

iRobot manufacturers robotic vacuums - and they have been doing so for over 20 years.

Well, then, just 8 months after Aeris was acquired by iRobot, in August of 2022 - Amazon announced a deal to acquire iRobot for $1.7 billion dollars.

Unfortunately, the deal was never made as the FTC got involved due to concerns of a monopoly. So, the talks dragged on for months until about Jan. 29th, 2024 - about 4 weeks ago… when Amazon decided to stop pursuing the iRobot deal and I think it was on the same day of the announcement - that iRobot cut 31% of their staff and the iRobot CEO stepped down - his name is Colin Angle and he has a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineeering and a masters degree in computer science, both from MIT - so he is loaded with brains. And Colin was an original cofounder of iRobot in 1997 and he served as the CEO of iRobot since 1997, as well…so he had been the CEO for 27 years. The problem is - iRobot, as a company, has been losing market share the past few years - and I believe they actually lost money the past 2 years as their sales and revenue was down.

As we can see in this stock chart - they were hovering around $50 a share on July 18th 2023 but unfortunately, they are currently today - about 7 months later - their stock has fallen all the way down to about $11.63 a share so… things have gone very bad, and in a big way for iRobot recently and they are searching for a new CEO.

So, I checked with their staff on the availability of the Klaara P7 air purifiers which will be replacing the Aeris 3 in 1 units which were supposed to be available in the United States sometime in 2024… and here is what they said, “as of Today, iRobot announced a series of operational and leadership changes following the termination of the Company’s previously announced agreement to be acquired by Amazon.

As part of this announcement, iRobot will be pausing all work related to non-floorcare innovations, including air purification.
We will keep supporting Air purifiers consumers by servicing their products, but we will no longer sell any until further notice.”

So, that is where it all currently stands. I hope they hire an amazing CEO to help turn their company around and I really hope they make the Klaara P7 units available to everyone around the world, ASAP as the Aeris 3 in 1 units were elite, IMO… so, we just have to wait and we shall see what happens.

Stay tuned for more updates

Till then, have a great day.

I was just wondering about this, thank you. I can't wait for the Aeris unfortunately, so I'll look at buying the IQAir HPP.

So glad I bought this 3 in 1 in 2021 before iRobot did; bought three of them, including two of the Air Lites. Had no idea they would be as valuable as my Chanel collection!

I used Smart Air purifiers. The downside is they offgas for a few days when new and they make a somewhat high pitch noise. The upside is the external build quality is very good and so is their energy efficiency.

Can you look into the Venta AH902 air washer. It claims to filter 99.995% of particles down to 0.07 microns and also doubles as a humidifier. If so this thing looks amazing and I would really like your input. Thank you very much!

Hmmm… Does this mean I won’t be able to buy replacement filters for my Aeris purifier?

This is disappointing.

There are few brands similar to Austin air . Like the Allen air. Airpura. I urgently need something for VOC from second hand smoke and vape.

Do you think something with plain coconut shell carbon be significant?
Which brand would be quieter to run on?

I think My neighbour got a hepa purifier but like myself wasn’t aware of VOC. With that said the smell is almost nonexistent? But my consumer grade VOC sensor seems to pick up somethings

I'm a bit confused. Here in Europe the Aeris 3 in 1 is easily available. I just have purchased 2 units in January (units produced in China btw). And I've checked now again: iRobot still sells it at a very competitive price on their website. Also in Asia its available, I asked the distributor in Thailand. So ... 🤷🏻‍♂️

QUESTION, what if you have mice in your attic, only a sheet of 1/2” drywall stands between you and them, would air filters protect from all rodent associated illness/allergies?
Thanks

My head is spinning trying to find the best Air Purifiers for my 1000sq/ft apartment. Have you heard of the Tracs TM250 or Amaircare 3000? I have a mold issue being taken care of as well as marijuana coming from neighbors and constant painting. I was thinking of getting the IQAir for the main room (because of your reviews!) and 2 Alen Breathsmart 75i’s for the bedrooms, but I’ve seen so many reviews about not so great customer service with warranty and bad packaging from IQAir that have made me wary.

I found the Tracs and Amaircare because they’ve been used in so many professional settings and I have a multitude of health conditions that make me highly sensitive (lungs, former cancer patient, asthma). Do you have any advice on the direction I should go? Thank you!

Hi Dough, thanks for your videos about this device. They contributed in buying a couple(4) a week ago. They were on sale here in the Netherlands.
Only since I have it the app doesn't work anymore. Do you maybe know anything about this or a way around this app.?
It would be nice to control them from everywhere.

Keep up the great reviews and making me step in the world of Air purification. Its been refreshing to say the least.😉

Off topic: Have you tested the new Dyson air Purifier?

I noticed on the iRobot site that the aair 3 in 1 popped up on the website for $1200 with note saying no shipping to NJ or DC. Does that mean the product is coming soon? If so at the $1200 price point do you think that is fair or should I purchase an open boxed one I see available on ebay?

Does anyone know is the Aeris Medical Pro air purifier the same physical model as the 3 in 1? In other words if I buy a Aeries Medical Pro can I just purchase a 3 in 1 filter or are they physically different machines?

Any recommendation for a decent air purifier? I'm currently researching for options, but the more I know, the less sure I become about which one I should purchase.

I bought the EnviroKlenz, and I like it just fine, do you have an opinion on this one, or a video? I need to get another one for downstairs. Thank you!!

2 questions for you! 1. I was reading that H14 hepa (medical pro aeris) may not be able to provide the higher level of filtration due to the increased need of fan power, so in reality it may be around 82% efficiency. Do you agree with that?
2. Do you think we need HEPA filtration in our cars or do we not spend enough time in them for it to be worth it? I’ve been thinking about buying the IQ air Atem car, have you looked at that unit? If so, do you know if it has the same filtration quality as a HPP for example, or if there have been any testing done on the Atem model.
Thank you again for all the great info!

Can you please review or atleast give your thoughts on if the Dyson big and quiet is worth the price tag. It’s probably one of the best looking units and I find the air flow enticing. With that said I want better air so maybe I should go with IQair?

Does that mean they will not produce and sell replacement filters anymore?
