If both the Father and the Son are referred to as God, doesn't this mean that you have two Gods?

Thank you for this explanation! Can you explain Hebrews 1:5-6 in relation to Acts 13:33? Is the Hebrews text mentioned a sequence when it say "again". Thank you.

The problem with this is that people tend to look at matters through 21st century lenses and fail to understand how people living in Bible times would have viewed matters. The Jews were monotheistic and believed in only one true God(. Deut6 :4 ),
The Shema was the corner stone of Jewish faith and Jesus himself restated the Shema in the gospel. Jesus prayed to and worshipped his God. Jesus died and was raised by his God. Jesus always has a God.(John 20 :17; Rev 3 :12).

But it must be understood that others are called 'God' in the Bible. Angels. judges, Kings, Moses - they are all called gods. This is because they were God in a representational sense or were viewed as heavenly beings such as the case with angels and so divine. In the Greco-Roman world of the first cenntury, anyone who was raised from the dead and exalted to heaven to sit at the right hand of God would have been viewed as a god. So, even within the Judaism of the time, viewing others as 'God' did not contradict the idea that there was only one true God, YHWH.

So I’m guessing your teachings are more constant with the binatarianism? (Meaning two Gods)? This cannot be true biblically speaking. It sounds like you have one God (Father) greater than God (Son). The Bible states that there’s only one divine person in the Godhead and that is God the Father. God who is eternal, became a true ontological man who is Jesus.

“For as the Father hath life in himself, even so gave he to the Son also to have life in himself:”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:26‬ ‭

The Father gave life to the Son at a specific time and that is, when the Holy Spirit came down from heaving according to Luke 1:35.

Hebrews 1:3 states that Jesus is the same image as the Father’s person. Thats why Jesus can say when you see me you see the Father because the Son is the exact same representation as the Father. So the answer is, no there’s no two divine beings. There is only one God the Father in which exist in two modes of existence as Father and Son. That is why Jesus can say that he was in heaven while simultaneously be on earth as a man John 3:13.
