Common mistake - problem on First / any oil change for C8 corvette stingray. Mobil 1 Dexos Filter

Many gear heads like myself like to DO things by ourselves. Not to save the money, but because we can, we love to, and it’s fun.

This can be a hard thing to do when autos stores list the WRONG oil filter part for use, because the manufacturer made a mistake.

*** Also. Make sure you use the right oil containing Dexos 2 or R - SuperCar or ESP version oil. Do not use the Oil for European cars even though it is 0W 40 oil and is made by Mobil 1, it is not the same thing.

Beautiful C8, some really good info here. I like that you mentioned the psi on the oil filter many are unaware of this important factor when selecting an oil filter. The previous Gen C7, and the Gen 6 Camaro with the LT1 recommend the same Dexos R Supercar oil and require even more of it at 10 quarts. Some on YouTube will say Dexos is a GM scam just to make additional profits through Mobil 1 and will tell you there are better and less expensive oils you should be using... If you have a vehicle of this caliber/performance level don't cheap out on the oil, especially while under factory warranty.

Can't even find a Mobil 1 M1-114A oil filter on Amazon. They are listing the 113A as the correct filter
