Malaysia is not short on experts in the field of education, so the question is, how can we ensure our elected representatives take on their recommendations to improve national school and therefore, the prospects of our young people.

This is the second of two Breaking Down the Issues episodes focusing on education - the first explored the history of schooling in our country and how we arrived at a situation where the schooling system is more fractured than ever with growing division between the haves and have nots and races and religions.

Finally someone said it! May I point out; we need to bring back english as a medium for Science and Maths as it would benefit students for tertiary education; and re-vamp the history syllabus taught to students. Introduce world history to students; let them know the world; and keep religion and secular education separate; instead of indoctrinating it into the education system

I guess one way to make the Malaysian Education System better is to include English in every single subject like History, Science, Math, Diploma Skills, etc. Oh, when it comes to teaching… it should be entirely in English and NOT a really bad Manglish.

Hey back to teaching English as the medium of education.
Run this alongside Bahasah....have it as well as not instead of.
Dr M and his affirmative policies got in the way of Education in Malaysia.
Wealthy and Elite Malays send children overseas or to Chinese medium schools.
It is a systemic issue from the top.
Use the Singapore Education system as an exemplar based upon merit.
A Malay student can get D for donkey or E for elephant but can still go to university.
This is crazy and totally stupid.

Chinese chose vernacular schools due to those factors
