Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 Released | Transparency International | UPSC

Recently, the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2023 was released by Transparency International. Transparency International is a global civil society organisation founded in 1993 and is based in Berlin, Germany. It ranks 180 countries and territories around the globe by their perceived levels of public sector corruption. The index uses a scale of 0 to 100, where 0 is highly corrupt and 100 is very clean. Denmark is at the top, followed by Finland and New Zealand. The bottom of the index included Myanmar (162), Afghanistan (162), and North Korea (172). At rank 180 was Somalia with the lowest score of 11. At rank 93, India has tied up with Maldives, Kazakhstan, and Lesotho.
