Corruption Perceptions Index 2022 | Transparency International

Every year, Transparency International publishes the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). The 2022 CPI shows that most countries are failing to stop corruption.

This year, the global average remains unchanged for the eleventh year in a row, at just 43 out of a possible 100 points. Most of the world continues to fail to fight corruption: 95% of countries have made little to no progress since 2017.

Since its inception in 1995, the CPI has become the leading global indicator of public sector corruption. The Index scores 180 countries and territories around the world based on perceptions of public sector corruption.

I’m aghast to observe that Canada’s depleted score this year and others has placed us well-outside the former “top-ten” status we enjoyed during the Harper administration. Our current PM’s handling of his Justice Minister years ago, was deplorable and it highlighted the ease with which Trudeau accommodated and supported the efforts of a Canadian company to secure international contracts via bribes. The entire incident from top to bottom was yet another putrid display of Trudeau’s personal, ethical hypocrisy. His father must have rolled-over in his grave.

I have great faith that this case will be won by the Mexican businessman since this government has no argument to be able to keep all his assets of Justice for the Mexican businessman and it will be almost there.

Why has mankind given their power to live a free humane integrity driven life away to a system of politicians and often dictator ruler-ship ? This is the same form of governance kings had over their serfdom eons ago! Surely their is a much better way for societies to exist and co-exist without exploitation and control by a handful who usually abuse power in corrupt and destructive ways for their countries and the world as a whole! We are maturing into a world that wants better answers to its problems of greed and love of power and fame that destroys integrity and moral character and liberty!
