The fact that they actually thought to do something like this on purpose.

When I lived in CT I worked with special need students. In our classroom I discovered this large set of pieces to build different bridges that were based on real bridges. Sort of like this but different kind of pieces.

After work I would spend an hour or so of my own time putting it together. It was large enough scale that Hot Wheel cars could use it. It was to teach coordination, physics and the like. I didn't realize that it was helping me with my depression and anxiety.

I completed it and it was used for the students whenever they were on break. I would check and repair it everyday before I went home. Maintain it basically. I was always proud of it. And even though it was complete it would bring me a little peace. Even just staring at it.

I think this is such a wonderful idea! I'll definitely check this out!!! Because I had no idea it existed. I was even looking at getting into airplane models again but didn't want to go through all the trouble of getting all the brushes and paints. I don't want to build out if it won't look authentic. This is right up my alley!

So, You "officially" say that Adults would like to play with LEGOs. Even though We've been playing with them for years. You just need to make more complex projects and sell more pieces separately (like costumise kits) for the more creative individual. A Program to help make one's drawing come to LEGO Life would be AWESOME too👍😎

I personally would prefer the mechanism in the base to be hidden with a brick built enclosure and the exposed supports to be clear. The skins are pretty but technic pieces aren't and they ruin the illusion for me. With a base that looks like the bottom of the ocean or a pond plus clear supports I think the set would be more attractive to adult collectors.

I would be crazy about this if there could be a Blue Whale one, so big, so cool and so beautiful that could open its mouth even if it would take 10 hours to build, it would be worth it!

They looks amazing! I hope I can afford one of these as they look beautiful!!! It would also be ace to have a couple of skins that you can colour in yourself as I'd love to make my dream fish! Good work lego :)

If creativity is what inspired this project, then the result would be a box of different bricks, which would allow the user to build freely. I'm sure a decent Lego builder could make something else from this set, but otherwise it's a cluncky fish toy you build once and then it gathers dust on the shelf-of-guest-impressing.

I'm not convinced. In the times when I had just simple pseudo version of lego with bricks in four colors and just a few shapes - I could enjoy the freedom of construction. Once a house, twice a car. Then another thing. Of course it was not moving. But... you could choose what you build. The connections between bricks and how your mind evolved it was just fun. And then came Lego that my brother had and it was nice. Starships and cars. Small humans. And imagine how you could still elaborate on the car and not follow instructions and still get sth great.
You unfortunately miss out on the creative side here. You need instructions, fitting together and one scheme. That is single use only. I am waiting for the time when out of these bricks you could make a fish, then a sunflowers with moving petals...

Cool, but it is just too expensive and if I only want to buy the Shark I have to buy the starter set with the koi skin. I would'nt touch the Koi skin after that...

Well there are people making functional drones of lego, and the greath lego group give me an tecnic from the 90s with an skin on it. Come on who is payd to have this ideias?
