Lego really missed the mark...

For starters, crowd funding shouldn't be a platform for multi-billion dollar companies to experiment with half-baked ideas they lack faith in.

The alternate skins could have easily been printable paper cutouts available from an official website.
The fact that you have to buy separate skins for a product like this, let alone how pricy it is, feels off - and franky, pointless, as people are undoubtedly just going to make skins available online for others to print out, or make their own themselves.
(And it's not like the alternate skins are 'only optional' accessories, it's clearly an intended selling point of the product.)

There isn't even mention of alternate builds for other types of creatures, which for a product like this I would think should've been one of the main design criteria...

The concept for this product is very interesting, unique and appealing, and even shows promise as a great educational toy, but the execution is very underwhelming and abysmally un-Lego-like, and it only show's that the people who are behind the project's hearts/heads weren't quite in the right place. :/

In it's current state, 'Forma 2019' is just2big of a missed opportunity imo.

Well feels like LEGO has problem with selling Technic based themes if they're experimenting with stuff like that plus bet that printing skins might be what rises the prize so much

I like the idea of interesting desk toys. Something that looks nice and moves mechanically. I imagine this moving into flapping birds and running horses. It’s really a nice idea

This seems neat. I could see something like this getting bigger if they let you design your own skins. The colorable one is a nice start, but a digital template for artists to create custom designs could make this one hell of an art toy.

I personally think these look really nice. The paper/cardboard skins add a level of realism to the movement function. Hopefully this ropes in enough supporters on Indiegogo,

I think this is a great idea for teaching people how to add moving features to static models, like MOCs and stuff, I'd like to see this come out purely for insight of how they progress, for example new movements and possible both vertical an horizontal movements simultaneously and things like that.
