Our knowledge and practice of teaching reading has changed dramatically since most adults were taught to read. This means families with children learning to read often find themselves in a learning curve of new terms and ideas.

This video aims to help everyone involved a child’s learning, to understand the important role of decoding in reading, and understand how it works. It looks at what happens in the brain, and how we use this information when we teach children to read.

Hello, as a 20+ year old adult, that never read much during my adolescent years, is it possible to '' recreate'' this mimic of decoding words and understanding them with an ease? Is there a practical way to exrecise on this? Is it even possible to achive this. I started reading alot more recently, but i have this problem of comprehending on what i am actully reading, I think decoding plays a huge factor since i am a slow reader. But i want to achive academical goals, so i need answers on if it's actully possible to reach academical heights at all, despite all the wasted time.

Thanks.

I have to ask what is your accent? Because you are speaking slowly this could be a great sample to teach your accent.
