I’ve skinned hundreds of feet of small wire using the notch by simply bending the wire and pulling through but this is the first time I’ve seen using the knife to cut the sheath first. Great idea and useful when you can’t afford to bend the wire. 🎉

It also can be used as a - paperweight - doorstop - improvised projectile - back scratcher - substitute chess piece - oblong hockey puck - insect decimator - sock drawer filler - pocket weight - bottled water displacer- and - a makeshift stress ball.

The little notch on the side was designed to strip blasting detonator wire. The Swiss Army has caches of explosives along railways, at bridges and tunnels where explosives are stored in periods of heightened tensions so these logistical links can be blown up when needed.

As an owner of several Army knives, also one which was stolen from an outside pocket during a travel, I know it is an efficient tool for many things and uses. And I also have one, with a chain, in my car.

Feck me, I've been carrying one of these for forty years and been in the electrical game all that time and always thought that wire stripper function was a joke. The jokes on me it seems, now thanks to you I have a convenient way to do it- yay. Great tools, use mine multiple times a day. How people function without them I have no idea.

Be sure it's in your checked bags of flying or TSA will add to their enormous collection of confiscated knives.
The wire stripper is the only one I found truly useful. The rest were a reach. It's still a great tool.
