I watched a number of videos and this was best. It included math, how to press seams, etc all which makes mitered borders less of a nightmare. However, there was more ripping than I’d like which means I will NOT do this again except for fancy decorator pillows. For quilts, quilting hides the conventional, non-mitering way of sewing borders and that is what I’ll do from now on. Too much of a pain to miter. But thank you for sharing your knowledge, it truly was the most complete and easy to follow.

Your video on this process is by far the best because you pay attention to the 1/4” position in great detail with a close up. Without that important info we are left with just guess work. Thank you🙏🎚️❤️

Thank you so much for this very helpful tutorial. I’ve made mitered borders once or twice before, but they never lay as flat as I liked. I think your tip about keeping that corner dog ear out of the seams and then using your pressing tips will make all the difference. 💕🎉BTW, the quilt hanging behind you with all the flying geese is one of the most beautiful I’ve seen!

I made a quilt 5 years ago that I had not finished because of these corners. Well the quilt recipient is visiting next month, and today I finished the top with "perfect" corners. Thank you!! You saved my project!! Accidentally trimmed too much off center panel of smocked-sided pillow….thought i’d have to order another panel & wait for it to arrive, when my husband said “why dont you put like a frame around it?”…
I found your tutorial & it looks like it will work!
(Smocking the side walls of pillow makes finished size so unpredictable… gotta fix the size of back of pillow too)
