Over the last 7 months, Meta, the parent company for Facebook and Instagram, has fallen by 52%. What's going on? What has caused Facebook to tank in the markets so heavily? Is it related to the Metaverse? Has TikTok proved too strong as competition for the two apps? Is Instagram worse off, or Facebook? What is Mark Zuckerberg doing to stop the decline?

This video will cover, Why Facebook & Instagram Have Been Failing

My biggest issue with IG these days is most of my feed is accounts I don’t follow. Too many adds and suggested accounts

I think the biggest thing is the distrust users have with the "meta" brand now, after all of the scandals, the 50/50 insta feeds (2 people you follow, 1 ad and 1 suggested follow), the rebranding just as controversy hits, the exposure of the ridiculous profile building of even non-users, the tax evasion, the censorship (you cant swear in a comment but you can get messaged by 13 scam accounts with links); people are just sick of the company

Loved this analytical dive! 95% of American teens use YouTube… that’s a staggering figure.

I'm glad to see that people are catching on to the weird influx of nonsense on Instagram, I honestly feel like the whole "reels" thing has almost ruined Instagram. Instead of posts (images, memes, photography, art, etc.) I'm constantly getting flooded with reels on my home page, my DMs, and of course the majority of the accounts I follow. I miss when Instagram was an infinite abyss of eye catching and entertaining pictures and photos rather than just a fuckload of annoying irrelevant videos that I didn't ask for (most of which were actually taken FROM TIKTOK).

Facebook honestly feels like it's going to slowly fade away into obscurity similar to Myspace's fate.

I love this trend. Social media has destroyed a lot of mental health and overall well-being. I think it’s amazing that meta is declining, they’re a scummy company.

I hate Instagram now. As an artist it used to be useful in actually sharing my work and meeting similar artists but now it's become infested with ads, reels, and kitschy content. At the same time, people treat social media as some notion of social evolution but alas it instead has caused more isolation, insecurity, and division.

I think it's good if Facebook dies because they seem to be forcing us to log on to view any content. And if Instagram becomes the primary place for people and companies images it means we are forced to sign in to a facebook product just to view images. It's like Facebook dying would mean we gain some rights to data privacy.

I started to actively dislike Instagram once they updated the UI, added the marketplace and moved likes to a small heart at the top of the screen. Instagram started as a place to post and share photos not sell shitty products. Not to mention the sheer amount of bots and scams that just randomly message you, yet you can’t curse in a comment or call someone out for being wrong.

Back then, people loved or hated Facebook. Yet, those that hated, still used it. With your videos, that explains why the social media had declined.

I would like to salute the younger generations in their tireless efforts to destroy Facebook out of sheer disinterest. Makes me proud

You forgot to mention the most important thing: Google and Apple blocked user tracking which made facebook targeted adds much worse and ruined their adds revenue.

I’ve completely deleted my social media accounts after having them for 15 years. The mental health implications, the time wasted, and the addictive nature of it are the reasons why I bit the bullet. I feel that more or more people are coming to this realization and are seeing the benefits of “disconnecting”. YouTube is now the only sort of social app I have

And I present to you: the repercussions of trying to monopolize everything! One company owns many different brands, creating competition for itself and therefor forcing itself to lose money! I genuinely love to see it!

I can't believe its not gone already. I got off of Facebook 10 years ago and haven't missed it at all. Social Media is a cancer.

Instagram used to be a place where you'd post cool photos you took on your phone and look at your friends' cool photos. Over time, it's morphed into a really lame digital mall. It's a place where people selling stuff scream at you to buy crap in between you looking at the horror show that is humanity.

One more thing why FB is failing is, whenever I login to it, instead of seeing posts and pictures of my friends, all I see is BS posts from pages and biased media channels, sometimes even those which I don't follow. Their desperate attempt to push these paid posts from media and pages for the greed of money is so big that they have stopped giving value to the very reason why people joined this platform.

With Facebook's clear amount of known breaches they had over the years, I'm not even positive that Facebook is the company that you want to give data to in the first place. As for the new name of the company, I highly doubt people will call it "Meta". Even so, rebranding won't change for what a terrible company it is.

Who thought that engaging in censorship on a mass scale could have had a negetive impact on a companies bottomline?
