I think they tried the entire game and 80% of the dlc to make her look pure evil.
All it took was a small hidden village to reverse all that.
Queen Marika was a complex and misunderstood character.

I think they should let players play as NPCS just to see how they're built. That would be nice.

Funny thing is Marika returning is entirely a possibility in the Age of Order ending. Basically Gold Mask creates the best outcome that Marika wanted: a new less broken order, the inability for the Outer Gods to interfere, and her meddlesome Other Half has been turned into a sword. With the new Elden Ring placed into her body there is no reason she could not revive herself to rule alongside her new lord, in a better Golden Age. She's still the god governing the age, just needs to pull her body back together, which is certainly something a Shaman like her can do.

By the way, I have run a Marika build since before the DLC, and I used to use the Sanguine Noble Robes, Circlet, and Gold Mask Armlets (no top). I needa take her through the DLC to get all the new clothing. I will say that I don't know if I'm gonna switch to the new hair; bit partial to the old braided ponytail.
