300 miles at 70mph is really impressive

I did 980 Kms in a Cupra Tavascan this weekend, I was pretty impressed with the range. I got just over 500km of range on a full charge. The new motor is definitely less greedy and also much quieter.

It would be interesting to compare this ID3 with the Cupra Born VZ. If I'm not mistaken, this VZ version is the only one with AP550.

490km at 110km/h is super impressive for a small car with toaster shape.

ID.7 drag coefficient is much lower as it’s an aero optimized sedan (codename ID AERO).

That’s close to 200km more highway range than the old medium sized battery ID.3. I would like to update for sure, but ID.3 GTX with similar trim level as our old one costs over 50k€. That’s a hefty cost for a 200km range bump + 1 second faster 0-100 and slightly improved interior.

Here in Canada my 2018 VW e-Golf drives through weeks of <-30°C temperatures every winter. It is always parked outside, so everything is that cold. The only time it failed was in 2024 when the 6 year old 12V lead-acid battery output fell too low when we hit -38°C. VW only sells the ID4 here, so I've no real replacement choice from VW. I would love to check out an ID3, but maybe its not made for Canadian winters?

Concerning the ID3, it would be good to compare the model with the app 310 engine and the one with the app 550 engine (GTX version). You have already done it on the Enyaq but it would be interesting to check this with the ID3 to know if the GTX is really more efficient at low speed (110 and lower) ?

The monospace design is not that sexy but the car is compact outside with enough space inside, conformable, now with good performance and above all with very interesting consumption and range! 
I think is one of best range for a car of this size !
